On June 1, 2026, the College of Nursing at Kaohsiung Medical University (KMU) was privileged to host Dr. Liaw Sok Ying, Head and Professor of the Alice Lee Centre for Nursing Studies (NUS Nursing), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Dr. Liaw was warmly received by the leadership team of the KMU College of Nursing and the School of Nursing for an engaging and meaningful academic dialogue.

  The meeting served as a dynamic platform for institutional exchange. Dr. Liaw shared valuable insights into the signature research domains and outstanding academic achievements of NUS Nursing, highlighting their strategic directions in advancing global nursing science. In return, the KMU College of Nursing showcased its distinctive strengths in talent cultivation and specialized curriculum design within the field of gerontological long-term care, emphasizing its role in preparing the next generation of eldercare professionals.

 Building upon these shared synergies, both institutions engaged in fruitful discussions regarding future strategic partnerships. Moving forward, NUS Nursing and KMU College of Nursing aspire to foster closer collaborations, with a particular focus on joint initiatives in community long-term health care education, as well as innovative education and research in gerontechnology. This milestone visit marks a significant step forward in strengthening international academic alliances and promoting global health excellence.
